Thirty minute lessons are recommended for beginner students  6 y.o. and younger.

Students are recommended to receive a weekly 45 minute lessons starting with the second year of piano lessons. Forty-five minute lessons are recommended for early intermediate, or intermediate level students (levels 1- 4). Adults students are welcomed. 

Sixty minute lessons are available for intermediate and advanced level students (levels 5 - 10) of all ages. Theory lessons should be accompanied for students in these levels, if time is limited, a separate theory lesson is recommended. 

Group lessons are normally scheduled on Saturday mornings from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at the studio two weeks prior to recital dates.  Group classes covers interactive music theory lessons, music history topical discussions, group projects, games, and performance opportunities. A strong emphasis is placed on the 30-45 minute student performance section of the group lessons. Pieces are not expected to be memorized.

A light snack is served during the lessons. The lessons are included in the annual registration fee. Students are welcomed to bring a friend at an extra charge of $5.00.

The hour-long AP music theory tutoring will emphaisze aural and visual identification of procedures based in common-practice tonality:

• functional triadic harmony in traditional four-voice texture (with vocabulary including nonharmonic tones, seventh chords, and secondary dominants)

• cadences

• melodic and harmonic compositional processes (e .g ., sequence, motivic development)

• standard rhythms and meters

• phrase structure (e .g ., contrasting period, phrase group)

• small forms (e .g ., rounded binary, simple ternary, theme and variation, strophic)

• modulation to closely related keys
